Hurst Haunted Funeral Home
And So It Began. . .
The Hurst funeral home was opened in 1912 by two brothers, David and Cary Hurst. Cary was the younger brother and was always sick throughout his life so it came as no surprise to anyone when he passed away at an early age.
With the death of his brother, David was driven into madness. The funeral home was turned into a lab for his demented experiments where he attempted to resurrect his brother from the dead among other unnatural things.
Each failed attempt pushed him further and further over the edge causing him to try even more disturbing experiments with his... “Customers”.
Years passed without anyone knowing what went on within the closed doors of the funeral home, most simply regarding old man Hurst as the town loony. Then On Beggar’s night in 1972 a teenage prank gone wrong started a fire within the funeral home and David burned alive inside, along with all his experiments.
The building was condemned and abandoned after the fire, but some say that every year in October David can be heard working within the funeral home, still continuing his experiments...
